Fossil Fuels
1 Fuels are substances that provide energy, such as heat, light, motion or electricity.
1.1 Oil
1.1.1 It is thick, black, liquid.. Comes from the remains of small animals, algae and other organisms that lived in the ocean. More than 1/3 energy on the world is caused by this.
1.2 Coal
1.2.1 Burned to produce heat. Peope mine to find it. Needs to be removed before it produces energy. Coal mining is a dangerous job. Most plentiful fossil fuel in the U.S. It's easy to transport. Mining it can increase erosion and runoff.
1.3 Natural Gas
1.3.1 It is a mixture of methane and other gases. Forms from the same organisms as oil. It froms from oil deposit. It's less dense than oil so it rises on top of the oil deposit
