OMAM: nature: the sun

Chapter 1
1. "twinkling over the yellow sand in the sunlight"
  1. the novel starts with a warm opening
Chapter 2
1. "about ten o'clock in the morning the sun threw a bright dust-laden bar."
  1. this shows that the world is weighed down with the dreams of the people
2. "the sun square was on the floor now"
  1. that the time is passing quickly
3. "for the rectangle of sunshine in the door way was cut off"
  1. this is were the evil is introduced
Chapter 6
1. "already the sun had left"
  1. this makes the reader think that the sun went down earlier than expected and something bad is is going to happen.
2. "the darkening slopes"
  1. the bad thing is going to happen and is getting closer
Chapter 5
1. "The sun streaks were high on the wall by now, and the light was growing soft in the barn."
  1. the light is coming to an end along with the story
