    1. illegal to treat someone different because of their race, colour, nationality, culture to origin.
      1. provides redress, training,gives support during tribunals and monitors behaviour.
        1. this law if it is broken then a person is punished this is called redress. People are penalised of their actions (discrimination).
          1. stops people being treated less favourably due to race, religion, ethnicity, national origins.
            1. makes it unlawful to discriminate in fields of employment, housing, education and services.
              1. insures policies and processed are implanted work as guidelines for the service providers.
                1. eliminates racial discrimination.
                  1. promotes good relationship between different racial groups.
                    1. public services such as the NHS must make them sleeves accessible to all types of people.
                      1. eliminates direct discrimination.
                        1. unlawful to apply discriminatory practices, publish discriminatory advertisements, instruct or put pressure on a person to do anything contrary to the RRO by discriminating in employment or other fields, or to knowingly aid another person to carry out such acts.

                          1. introduces direct and indirect discrimination, victimisation and harassment
                            1. expensive to take to court for both parties
                              1. laws are passed but hard to monitor and prove indirect discrimination.
                                1. to seek redress the individual must be aware of the their rights and the race relation act.
                                  1. complaining can lead to victimisation in the work place.
                                    1. Racist attacks and violence are serious criminal offences covered by the criminal law, not the Race Relations Act.
                                      1. positive discrimination is acceptable however the act states that any racial discrimination isn't acceptable therefor this causes confusion for citizens.

                                        1. direct discrimination - treating an INDIVIDUAL less favourably 'you can no work here because you are from Poland'
                                          1. indirect discrimination - rules or conditions stop a person from accessing opportunities and this therefor affects a GROUP of individuals. 'you will have to wear a hard hat to work here, so you will have to remove your headgear.
                                            1. victimisation - penalised for highlighting discrimination or being a witness to it in court 'you have to leave because you have made a complaint'
                                              1. harassment - continuing to be a nuance and cause discomfit this could be in the form of nicknames 'calling a bold hindu ghandi'
