        Annotations:

        • In CU OS Administration menu > Settings > IP>Ethernet changing any info like IP or hostname cause SYSTEM RESTART.********** (IP and Hostname change consult documentation – can cause disruption b/w pub n subs)
        1. Disruptive
        2. Disaster Recovery System - common

          Annotations:

              • Unified CM Phones with Mismatch Load” will help when you need to only upgrade /downgrade only a few set of phones rather than complete cluster phones.

              Annotations:

          2. Presence Server

            Annotations:

            • (has its own database – so can have pub in it’s name)  It gets added like a subscriber when integrated with CUCM and shows as a SUB (like other SuB’s listed ) when you open the Cluster menu under CUOS (Cisco US OS drop down menu).
            1. gets added like a subscriber
            2. Two partitions
              1. immed rollback during upgrades by allowing upgrades to occur on non-used partitions

                Annotations:

                • Two partitions get configured, when we do an upgrade it does it on non-used partitions. (It facilitates better fallback so that if you are not satisfied with upgrade it allows immed rollback by allowing phones to boot from other partition).
              2. NTP

                Annotations:

                • All skinny phones get their time from CUCM, while SIP phones get their time thru NTP. NTP can be pointed to PUB but still better to have separate NTP.
                1. Timestamp

                  Annotations:

                  •  All call logs, CDR, traces & debug should have proper NTP so that logs don’t have mismatch timestamps
                  1. SIP vs SCCP phones
                  2. TFTP (Options 66/150)

                    Annotations:

                    • Different TFTP server specified in DHCP options. Options 66 & 150 (multiple IP so multiple TFTP to provide redundancy).
                    1. RSync

                      Annotations:

                      • No sync b/w multiple TFTP’s (Cisco cud have provided RSync functionality – but they chose not to – so when you upload file make sure you do to both/multiple TFTP servers).
                      1. For Large Env - Dedicated
                        1. ROOT/ NO ROOT (Inside root subfolder)

                          Annotations:

                          • Most of the files in TFTP reside on the / (root) but some files which are based on phone locale (country/region specific) or based on phone model may reside in a folder under root) e.g. wallpaper image for phone based on phone model resolution.
