Mediante la formula química, es posible saber el porcentaje de masa.
Ejemplo:
SO2: 1 átomo de azufre, 2 de oxígeno.
Masa atómica del S=32.1
%S=masa S/masa SO2 *100
Masa del O2= 16*2=32
Suma Total=64.1
%O=masaO/masa SO2
Fórmula empírica.
Mediante calculo elementales y la composición porcentual podemos determinar la composición porcentual
Ejemplo:
Muestra de: 27.3% de C y 72.7 de O
C
Moles de C=27.3* 1 mol de C/12=2.28
2.28/2.28= 1 C
CO2
O
Moles de O= 72.7*1 mol de O/15.9=4.54
4.54/2.28=2 O
