1 Parliament's Control
1.1 it is sovereign so it can veto legislation
1.2 HOC can remove a government with a vote of no confidence
1.3 Parliament can amend or remove offending clauses in legislation
1.4 Government cannot hope to override significant parliamentary opposition to a proposal
1.5 HOL remains independent. can defy the will of government
1.6 MPs and peers can call government into account pubically
