                                                                    1. Humans are the most special part of God's creation therefore we are more important than animals
                                                                      1. "God made man in his own image" - Similar to god whereas animals aren't
                                                                      2. Animals are still part of God's creation and they are valuable because of that

                                                                          1. Also states God "blessed" the animals showing concern for them
                                                                        2. Most Christians think that we must be STEWARDS of the Earth
                                                                          1. We ought to guard it and be responsible for it including the animals

                                                                          2. Some Christians think that we have DOMINION over animals - we are allowed to use them in any way we want

                                                                              1. St Thomas Aquinas said animals do not have souls so we can treat them how we like

                                                                                  1. Rule of conduct that bans the killing or injuring of living beings
                                                                                    1. Applies especially to cows - sacred to Hinduism

                                                                                      1. The belief that the soul after death comes back to Earth in another body: animals are part of this cycle

                                                                                        1. The way in which a person's actions will affect what happens to them in the future
