Actual situation: Many companies are still experiencing some difficulties due to economics crisis, and some other have already got over it.
1. Also globalization has played an important role, in the development of the companies.
In the year 2020, many aspects of the world, such as the way we make business will change, for example:
1. As younger generations enter the market, (as employees and customers), companies must adapt to their way of living and seeing the world in order to satisfy their needs.
2. New ways of sharing things, such as documents, softwares, activities, etc.
3. Technology has now become an ordinary thing, which everyone takes for granted, which makes it more difficult to innovate.
  1. Touch screens are great example.
Transport
1. Now and in the future, transportation will always be a very importante part of the supply chain
  1. But, fuel prices will eventually rise.
  2. New fuels will emerge, continuing the trend of green energy.
  3. Companies are looking forward to diminish contamination caused by transportation.
  4. Ecotax, is now a normal tax in some countries.
  5. Some companies will shift from road transportation to water or air transportation.
  6. Increase on traffic.
  7. Internet selling and parcel shipping will increase.
2. Air and Sea Freight
  1. China is now the largest trade nation
  2. Latin America, the Middle East and Africa will improve in the market thanks to its new alliances with China.
  3. Increasing fuel costs
3. Rail Freight
  1. Rail freight will also experiment an increase.
    1. Because of the fuel cost increment, rail will become more popular thanks to its more efficient use of fuel.
    2. Governments will invest on it again.
    3. Eventhough rail transport is faster, the lack of routes, makes it harder to use
    4. Its more "green"
Warehouse
1. Sometimes it is being underestimated, but its a key factor.
  1. Automated high bay racking systems to utilize space and improve efficiency will become more and more common.
  2. Instead of enormous warehouses, there will be smaller ones distributed locally.
  3. e-commerce, will make everything more eficient
  4. Increase of cross-docking

1. Data sharing
