Battle of Hastings was a famous battle that took place in the 1066 in which William the Conqueror defeated the Saxons.

William's army had been ready since August, but strong winds
stopped him sailing until late September. There have been many
accounts of the Battle of Hastings. It is difficult to be sure of what
happened, but there are some good guesses.
Preperation
For battle, his men were well rested and
Williams army was thoroughly prepared
trained. He had about 7,000 men.
What happend at the Battle of hastings?
William gathered an invasion fleet of 700 ships and a large army.Harold II marched quickly south from
Stamford Bridge. The two sides met at Senlac Hill, near Hastings.Harold II's army were at the top of Senlac
Hill. The Norman knights could not charge uphill. So the Normans pretended to run away, then turned and cut
down the Saxons.William used archers to break up the shield wall. Then the Saxons completely destroyed
Harold ripping his body and guts it was grusome.

There fore Harold and his army wasn't
rested and un trained. Because Harold
never new his army well. They were
exhausted after their non stop trip from
stamford bridge.
Harolds army at that time had just fought at
stamford bridge 12 days before the Hastings
Battle. Harold had killed Harald Hardrada and his army was defeated.
