                                          1. Hypotension
                                        2. Severity of dehydration
                                          1. Mild <5%
                                            1. Thirsty, reduced UO
                                              1. Dry mucosa, mild tachycardia
                                            2. Moderate 7-8%
                                              1. Lethargy
                                                1. Sunken fontanelles/eyes, reduced skin turgor
                                              2. Severe
                                                1. Decrease level of consciousness
                                                  1. Signs of shock - poor perfusion, hypotension
                                              3. Management
                                                1. Oral fluids preferred
                                                  1. Small frequent breast feeds
                                                    1. Oral rehydration fluid
                                                      1. Last resort 1/5 strength juice or lemonade
                                                      2. If oral not tolerated
