Violation of broadcasting code 6(1) Children.Summary:Youth Worker Kurian made a complaint to the radio station about a song that they had played on the radio. He felt the Katy Perry song 'Last Friday Night' was harmful to children and should not be played on day time radio. The song lyrics were full of messages about illegal behavior and sex -he felt and was teaching children to behave inappropriately.Tribunal found:No violation of Broadcasting Code. It is personal opinion find the song offensive and does not justify a general finding by the commission that it would have a negative impact on the freedom of expression. The appeal against the adjudication was not upheld.
