PRESENT SIMPLE We use the present simple when: 1. Express liKes and dislikes. Ex: I like basketball 2. Talk about routines. Ex: I get up at 8.00 am. 3. Talk about facts (hechos). Ex: London is the capital of England. PRESENT CONTINUOS pronoum + am/is/are + verb-ing We use the present perfect in the other situation to talk about the things that we are doing in the present. Ex: I,m going to the school/He is working in a supermarket/They are drinking some beers PRESENT PERFECT pronoun + have/has + past participe (regular verb:-ed) We can talk about the pass for present perfect or past simple. We use the present perfect when we don’t know when we have done something. Normally we use these words for the present perfect: FOR: duration. Ex: I have lived in Las Navas for years. SINCE: a point in time. Ex: I have lived in Las Navas since 2012 NEVER: not in your life/experience. Ex: I have never lived in China. EVER: in your live/experience.¿? Ex: Have you ever visited Barcelona? JUST: recent event. Ex: I have just started this class. SIMPLE PAST pronoun + past form ir.verb (reg. verb: -ed) We use the past simple when we talk about the things we have been in the past. If you want ask WHEN we you use the Past Simple. Ex: Yesterday I went to Cordoba/I phoned my mother last night/You ate omelet last MondayPAST CONTINUOUS subject + WAS/WERE + verb- INGEx: They were talking about the wedding.We use the past continuous:. To describe past action over a period of time.Ex: Francesca and Simon were making cake and Isabela was trying to decide what to wear..With the past simple to describe interrupted action.Ex: He was shopping for a new suit when he realized that he didn’t have his credit card. FUTURE SIMPLE pronoun + will + infinitive without TO Prediction: We use the future simple when is probably . Normally we say WHEN. Ex: I will probably see my children after class / I will go home after class Information: will take (durar), to be able to (forma future de “poder”) Ex: will you be able to come with us? / You will be able to get tikets to the concert if you arrive at the box office early. ALSO WE CAN USE THE PRESENT CONTINUES TO TALK ABOUT THE FUTURE Ex: I am going to go home after class.
