What does URBAN mean? A built up area such as town or city. Large population
What does POPULATION DENSITY mean? Number of people per sq km
What does DENSELY POPULATED mean? Lots of people living an area, they would live close together.
What does SPARSELY POPULATED mean? Few people living in an area, like the country side where there are not lots of houses near each other.
What does population distribution describe? The way people are spread out across the world
Why does North West England have a high population density? Because raw materials like coal were found there.
How is population density worked out? Number of people divided by land area
What encourage people to live in an area? Good jobs

What is migration? People moving both into and out of a country. Immigrants move in, emigrants move out.
