| What does weathering mean? | Weathering means wearing away or breaking rocks in a long period of time. |
| What does mechanical weathering mean? | Mechanical weathering means the process of breaking big rocks into little ones or in other words rocks break down in smaller fragments. |
| What is mechanical weathering caused by? |
It is caused by rain, wind, ice, heat and plants.

| What does chemical weathering mean? | Chemical weathering is the weakening and subsequent disintegration of rock. |
