What is an indicator? Something that is used to show whether a substance is alkaline or acidic.
What is universal indicator? It is an indicator that turns a different colour depending on what pH (or how strongly acidic or alkaline) something is.
Give 3 examples of indicators. Could be: phenolphthalein, methyl orange, litmus or universal indicator.
For universal indicator, what colour does it go when it is in an acid? red, orange or yellow
What colour is universal indicator when it is in alkaline solutions? Purple or blue
What colour is universal indicator when it is in a neutral solution? Green
