  1. Speed and velocity
    1. Speed= How fast you are going e.g 30mph
      1. Velocity= speed with a direction specified e.g 30mph north
      2. Distance + Time graphs
        1. Steeper curve = Speeding up
          1. Curves
            1. Up = Acceleration
              1. Down = Deceleration
              2. Calculating
                1. Speed = Gradient = vertical/horizontal
                  1. e.g 500/30 (use scales NOT cm) = 16.7m/s
                    1. change in distance/change in time
                  2. Steeper = Faster
                    1. Straight = Steady speed
                      1. Levelling = Slowing down
                        1. Flat = Stationary
                          1. Gradient = Speed
                            1. Downhill = Back to starting point
                            2. Acceleration
                              1. Define
                                1. How quickly the velocity is changing.
                                  1. Change in velocity: change in speed or change in direction or both
                                2. Change in velocity/time taken
                                  1. (v-u)/(axt)
                                    1. v-u= change in velocity
                                      1. a= acceleration = m/s2
                                  2. Velocity-time graph
                                    1. Gradient = Aceleration
                                      1. Curve = changing acceleration
                                        1. Flat sections = steady speed
                                          1. Steeper = greater the acceleration/deceleration
                                            1. Uphill = Acceleration
                                              1. Downhill = Deceleration
                                                1. Area under any section is equal to the distance travelled in that time period.
                                                  1. Acceleration = Gradient = vertical change/horizontal change
                                                    1. e.g 30/20 = 1.5m/s2
                                                  2. Gravitational force
                                                    1. Rule: Attracts all masses
                                                      1. Effects
                                                        1. 1. On a planet makes all things accelerate towards the ground, with the same acceleration. (10m/s2 on Earth)

                                                        2. Weight and mass
                                                          1. Mass = amount of stuff in an object
                                                            1. Weight = Pull of gravitational force causes weight
