  1. Social book marking sites
    1. Way for people to store, organize, search, and manage "bookmarks" of web pages. Users save links to web pages that they like or want share, using a social bookmarking site to store links
    2. VLEs
      1. (Virtual Learning Environment) is a system for delivering learning materials to students via and web. This system includes assessment, student tracking, collaboration and communication tools
      2. Social networking
        1. An online community where people can communicate and share information
        2. Microblogging
          1. Short messages which may include short sentences, individual images or video links (for example Twitter)
          2. Email
            1. A system for sending and receiving messages electornically over a computer network
            2. Video- conferencing
              1. Using computer to provide a video-link between two or more people, instead of just talking to someone by telephone, you are able to see them as well
              2. VoIP
                1. (Voice over Internet Protocol) this technology is used to make telephone calls via the Internet, usually at a cheaper cost
                2. Cloud Computing
                  1. A system in which all computer programs and data is stored on a central server owned by a company (e.g Google) and accessed virtually
                  2. Sharing data online
                    1. An online file sharing service provides a way to store and access information (e.g. document, data, photos and video) in the cloud rather than storing the information locally on a device hard drive
                    2. Blogs
                      1. A share online journal where people can post diary entries about their personal experience and hobbies
                      2. Online Work Spaces
                        1. Working online/ network at home or office rather than on paper documents
                        2. User-generated reference sites
                          1. Social book marketing sites
