Representing images in binary format
  1. Bitmap
    1. bitmap images change resolution if you enlarge them, small bitmap images look quite hi-def but if you enlarge them they become pixelated
      1. you need one byte to get 256 different colors, but two bytes can get you over 60 thousand
      2. Vectors
        1. These do not have data pixels but are a set of instructions for drawing a geometric shape.
          1. An advantage with vectors is that they can be scaled without loss of quality and they also use less storage
