ORIGIN = THE PATIENT BILL OF RIGHTS: AMERICAN HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION (AHA) - 1973 REV. 1992
1. right to considerate & respectful care
2. right to information about treatment, diagnosis, prognosis
3. right to discuss & request information re: treatment
4. right to make decisions about plan of care including refusal (AMA)
5. right to an advanced directive
6. right to privacy
7. right to confidentiality
8. right to a reasonable response
9. right to review medical records
10. right to consent to research
11. right to review hospital policies
12. right to know if hospital is in a business relationship with any outsside entity that impacts treatment or care
13. right to continuity of care
