THE DESIGN ARGUMENT

B) Do you think the universe is deigned? give two reasons for your point of view (4 marks)

I do think the universe has been designed because design is the result of intelligent thought. The universe shows evidence of being designed (e.g. gravity, ozone layer). this suggests that a being with intelligence designed the universe and the universe is too complex to have happened by chance or be designed by any other being other than God, for example Paley's watch theory, which supported the design argument and therefore this is why I think that the universe is designed.

However, I don't think the universe has been designed because the world can be explained scientifically, with better evidence, which makes me question why, if the world can be designed, why does natural evil exist. This means that we cannot possibly prove God's existence and power to suggest he is the designer, and therefore this is why i think that the universe hasn't been designed, but the universe is actually the result of evolution.
