    •Southern edge of Mexico City, in canals in the vicinity of Xochimilco and the Chalco wetland. •Requires deep-water lakes and water bodies with abundant aquatic vegetation. •Axolotls may be found in Lake Xochimilco’s “floating gardens,” or “chinampas”.
