With the popularity of modern lifestyles in young generation, there is an increasingly popular idea that students who leave highschools should have a gap year before entering universities or colleges and continuing the tertiary education. The pros and cons of this issue has been debated upon. This essay will tackle the most important ones.

The most obvious gain of this circumstanse is that students could spend the one-year period of time on a part time job. Due to it, they may gain some hands-on experiences especially soft skills. The young would have chance to determine their own career passion and then having a proper orientation before ensuring a potential job in their future.

Another valueable outcome is doing a part time job could help young people earn money. As we all know, at the level of higher education, school fee would be higher. Thanks to the extra income they have, they are able to support for the upcoming school year and become less independent on their parents. Let us take a case of working as a part-time employee at a restaurant in Viet Nam might be paid about two dollas per hour. Each day you are allowed to work in three to four hours. Following this, you could earn approximately nearly 3000 dollars in one year and that is even enough to pay the 4-year education fee in some public universities in my country.

We, however, should not turn a blind eye on the underside outcomes, one of which is that schooling could be interupted. In the period of one year, the students might be loss of academic knowledge and then fail to keep up with peers. As the result, they would be dotivated and easily drop out. Moreover, stopping the schooling in early time could affect their curriculum vitaes when they apply to good companies which expect a high standard of agents.

Another threat worth mentioning is time-consuming. With the students do not have any parental instructions are less likely to mature fully. They do not have enough experiences to be able to make a smart decision for their future. Accoding to this, these young people may fail to spend this time meaningfully and waste their youth in social evils.

I would like to concludeby by saying that the young generation shoule be fully aware of the merits and demerits of having a year gap before it can be applied because it might strongly affect to your future life.
