Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
The goal of service-oriented architecture is to separate the business integration logic from the implementation
Layer 1: Operational Systems
Layer 2: Component Layer
Layer 3: Services Layer
Layer 7: Administration, Monitoring and Quality of Service.
Layer 5: Presentation Layer
Layer 6: Integration
Layer 4: Business Processes
It consists of existing applications within the company, known as legacy systems
Uses technologies to contain the components that exist within, such as application servers, which in turn help carry out tasks
It gives us the characteristics required to monitor, manage and maintain the quality of service in areas such as security, performance, and availability.
It facilitates the integration of services through the introduction of a set of capabilities such as routing, protocol mediation, transformation mechanisms, etc.
Normally this layer is not part of SOA, but every day it becomes more relevant.
Here visual tools are used to build the workflows such as the Orchestration Designer
The services that the organization decides to expose reside. They can be referenced directly, or be part of an orchestration or a composite service
