• Let ABCD be the general quadrilateral.
• Join the diagonal AC and it divides into
• two triangles ABC and ADC. ⸫ AC= d
• Let BL = h₁ be the height of triangle ABC and
• DM=h₂ be the height of triangle ADC
• Area of the Quadrilateral = Area of triangle ABC + Area of triangle ADC
• = 1/2 x AC x BL + x AC x DM
• = 1/2 x AC x ( BL + DM)
• Area of the Quadrilateral = 1/2 x d x (h₁ +h₂)
