- 1What is Cross Site Scripting? (CSS)CSS is where code is hidden within a website's original script, unknown to the admin or authorised users, that creates false links to take them off the current website and over to a fraudulent one.
- 2What is Cross Site Request Forgery? (CSRF)CSRF is where a session is being run in the background, where clicks on a different webpage (by the target) will be actioning malicious activity on the fraudulent one.
- 3What is DNS poisoning?DNS poisoning is where the actual DNS record itself for a certain access (normally webpage URL's) have been changed to take the user to a malicious website. For example, www.BT.co.uk could be entered by the user, but the record has been changed so when that URL is searched for it takes them to www.fakeBT.co.uk.
- 4What is Data at Rest?Data at rest is data persisted to storage media. Typically stored digitally, on physical hard drives/databases/backups.
Data at rest is data in a passive state, that is not currently being accessed, updated or processed. - 5What is Data in Transit?Data that is transmitted across two or more points across a network, although it could be data that is being carried physically across persistent media.
Data in transit could also be data stored in system memory by a computer, that is ready for processing. - 6What is Data in Use?
