- 12 techniques you can implement to defend your network against availability-based attacksFlood guards
loop prevention - 2Which attack overwhelms network devices?Flooding attack
- 3Name 2 flooding attacksSYN flooding
MAC flooding - 4Attacker creates thousands of partially opened TCP connections to a device by sending packets but never answering. Which attack is this?SYN floods
- 5Attacker sends large numbers of MAC addresses to a switch to overflow and then out to every switch port. Which attack is this?MAC floods
- 6What protects network devices against flooding attacks?Flood guard technology
- 7_____ _____protects switches against MAC flooding attacks.port security
- 8What allows broadcast storms?routing loops
- 9What condition allows the network to quickly fill up with broadcast messages with no capacity left for legitimate use?broadcast storm
- 10prevents broadcast storms by implementing loop preventionSpanning Tree Protocol
STP - 11occurs when there are multiple physical paths between two network devices.routing loops
- 12What is the solution to routing loops?use routing protocols that include loop protection
- 13Name a loop protectionSpanning Tree Protocol
STP - 14What protocol allows multiple physical connections between devices, but restrict logical connections to remove links that would allow a loop?Spanning Tree Protocol
