   • An anti-virus can stop any virus, zombie or worm from affecting your PC.
   • It scans the computer periodically.
   • Protects malicious software.
   • Used when a program is trying to connect to another network.

3. Encryption

   • Encryption is when you have power on your device and you have an numeric pin.
   • you encrypt a message if you don't want someone to know something.
   • You encrypt a message by using a cipher.
   • You decrypt a message by using a key.

4. Firewall

   • A firewall can control what goes into your computer and what can't go in.
   • Controls data packets.
   • Needs updating regularly to make sure that it knows the latest threats.
   • Should be used on email attachments.
   • Should be used when downloading new software.
