THE SOLAR SYSTEM (MIND MAP)

THE SOLAR SYSTEM (MIND MAP)

1. PLANETS

   • Planets are more or less spherical celestial bodies that orbit a star that shines light on them. This is why we see them shine. There are two types of planets: - The rocky or inner planets - The gas or outer planets

2. SATELLITES

   • Stellites are spherical, or non-spherical, celestial bodies that orbit planets. They can also orbit stars. They do not produce light; they only reflect the light of a star.

3. A STAR(THE SUN)

   • The Sun is a yellow star that is small to medium-sized when compared to other stars. It is located in one of the spiral arms of the Milky Way and moves through space with the rotation of the galaxy.

4. DWARF PLANETS

   • The dwarf planets such as Pluto and Ceres, that do not meet all all the requirements to be a planet. The main reasons for this are that they are small and their orbits are not free of smaller bodies.
