1. The 5k's

   • Kesh
     • Uncut hair and they must keep clean .
       • Sikh hair is covered with a turban
         • They believe there hair is a gift from god.
   • Kara
     • Its a reminder of god. if a Sikh was going to steel with there dominant hand ( the one the Kara's on )they will be reminded that god whaching and will not
     • A steel bracelet or bangle as some people cant buy gold or silver as they may not have the money.
   • Kachera
     • baggie shorts
     • all Sikhs wear them
   • kirpan
     • A small dagger that Sikh's wear
       • To protected the weak and needy
   • kanga
     • its a wooden comb
     • its so Sikhs can comb there long hair .
     • to comb the knots out of life

2. challenges of being a Sikh in the uk

   • may not be able to pray or be them selfs
   • caring / wearing religion items
   • may not be a gurdwara near them to go and workship
   • persecution & racism

3. guru granth sahib

   • Sikh's holy book
     • book has its own fan called chavi this is to keep fly's away
       • the book has its own room with a bed that has silk sheets
       • its covered with special clothes called romallas
   • if treated as if somebody lent it from an all powerful god that will rain down death if its harmed
   • the book is written in Gurumukhi ( the 2nd guru invented the language )
   • the book is placed higher then everyone over then the reader
     • ever single book has exactly 1430 pages

4. gurdwara

   • a gurdwara is not just a place of workshop it has study rooms , sleeping areas ,kitchens.
   • Sikh's community center
   • men and wemon get seperted when there in a pay so they don't desterbe each other
   • anybody can get food even if there not Sikhs
   • not allowed to wear shoes passed enters and must cover hair. no drugs alcohol or tobacco allowed in.

5. guru goblin singh

   • taught Sikhs that they should stand up for themselves and others ,even if they risk there lives doing it

   • helping others

   • the founder of sikhism
