1. Brute force attack

   • When all possible passwords are attempted hoping to get into your account

2. Denial-of-service attack (DoS

   • When a network source becomes deliberately overloaded with unwanted packets untill its too slow to run

3. Distributed-denial-of-service attack (DDoS)

   • When a local network gets overloaded with packets by gaining somebody's IP adress

4. Structure Query Language (SQL) Injection

   • When a website is linked to a database for malicious code to be entered into website form

5. Malware

   • A computer software that has been made to purposely to cause major damage
   • Trojan
     • Gaining access to some ones personal information by pretending to be a legitimate software
   • spyware
     • Records stuff you do on your computer to spy on you
   • Worms
     • Gains access to a computer without humans installing or gaining them

6. Social Engineering

   • A technique that gives people access to confidential information
   • Blagging (pretexting)
     • Fraudsters will make up a scenario to get you to give them information you would not otherwise
   • Phishing
     • Naturally by email, the attackers would send an email to claim they are legitimate organisation to get you to leak information
   • Pharming
     • Users are redirected to a real looking website that you would search in
