FUTURE STRUCTURES

1. WILL

   • This is the most basic and common form used to express the simple future.  Will always be accompanied by a verb in its base form to form the future. Otherwise, will becomes a noun and means will.
   • RULES
     • It is used in the following cases: Promises, requests, refusals, offers, Future conditional, Predictions based on opinions.
   • STRUCTURES
     • Structure: - Subject + will / won’t + basic form verb + complement. Question: - Will + subject + basic form verb + complement?Short answer:-Yes, I/HE/SHE/IT/WE/YOU/THEY will. No, I/HE/SHE/IT/WE/YOU/THEY  won’t.
   • EXAMPLES
     • - The sun will rise at 7 a.m. - Will she read the newspaper tomorrow? - You will not work very hard.

2. GOIND TO

   • The verb "to be going to" is equivalent to "to go to do something". Its sentence structure is: The verb being conjugated is "to be" and it has to agree in tense and person with the subject. She is going to do the shopping.
   • EXAMPLES
     • - Are you going to buy a new car?- She is going to pay with a credit card. - I am not going to eat.
   • STRUCTURES
     • Structures: Be + going to + (verb) Negative: Be + not + going to + (verb) Interrogative: Be + sujeto + going to + (verb) ? Short answer: Yes, I am ...........etc. No, I am not ....... etc
   • RULES
     • "Going to" is mostly used to talk about Prior Plans, Evidence Based Predictions.  Express future plans decided before the moment of speaking  Express a prediction based on present evidence. Express that something is about to.

3. PRESENT PROGRESIVE

   • a verb form consisting of an auxiliary be in the present tense followed by a present participle and used especially to indicate that a present action or event is in progress, being repeated, or of a temporary nature or to express the future.
   • Future arrangements. Things that you are about to start doing.
   • EXAMPLES
     • - He is not playing soccer tonight. - I am taking my mother to the hospital. - Is she travelling to New York?
   • STRUCTURES
     • Structure: Subject + Be + verb-ing + complement. Negative: Subject + Be-not +verb-ing + complement. Question: Be + subject + verb - ing + complement?
   • RULES
     • Sentences in the positive or negative should begin with the personal pronoun or the noun itself; e.g.: I, He, She, We, They, You, Samanta, Rogelio, Mi hermano, Mi casa, Mi perro. The pronoun or name is followed by the verb "To Be" which in this case means "I am"; e.g.: Am, Are, Is. In third place will go the verb that will define the action that is happening at the moment, adding the "ing"; For example: studying, eating, drinking, walking, watching. Lastly, the complement will take place, only if it is necessary to add extra information. For example: I am studying math. For questions, the pronoun and the verb "To Be" exchange position: "Are you studying?"  

4. FUTURE CONTINUOS

   • The future continuous tense, sometimes also referred to as the future progressive tense, is a verb tense that indicates that something will occur in the future and continue for an expected length of time.
   • EXAMPLES
     • - Will you be coming tomorrow morning? - You won't be staying. - She will be visiting us next Christmas.
   • STRUCTURES
     • Structure: S+will+be+V-ing(presente participle) Negative: S+will+not+be+V-ing(presente participle) Question: Will+S+be+V-ing? (presente participle)
   • RULES
     • To indicate that an action that is in progress in the future is interrupted by another specific action. To express actions that will be in the process of being performed or taking place at a specific time in the future.
