Ethics and values

  1. Values are the principles, virtues, or qualities that characterize a person, an action, or an object that are typically considered positive or of great importance to a social group.

    • Personal
    • Social
      • Are those criteria that are shared and put into practice by the members of a society. These types of values serve to coexist respectfully and in harmony among all the members that make up society.
    • Universal
      • They are the set of rules of coexistence valid at a given time and period. Given this, we must understand that it is not a simple concept. This is because important values are sometimes confronted and conflict. The right to life and health, respect for private property, observance of laws, etc.
  2. Ethics can be defined as the science of moral conduct, since, by carrying out a detailed analysis of society, it is established how all the individuals who make life in it should act or behave.

    • Social
      • It studies the norms and moral principles of collective life in an institutional and non-institutional sphere... Social ethics constitutes the necessary complement to individual ethics, which considers the individual's responsibility towards others and towards himself
    • Business
      • Study of the normative questions of the moral nature that arise in the business world.
    • Personal
      • Personal ethics encompasses honesty, truth, sympathy and loyalty, benevolence, kindness, rights and justice as values that have to be put into action on a daily basis. It gives us principles and guidelines to guide our conduct, it is a normative science and that differentiates it from other sciences. In certain aspects personal ethics collides with psychology, because both study social behavior.
  3. Moral

    • Morality is a set of rules, standards of coexistence and human behavior that determine the obligations of men, their relationships with each other and with society.
  4. Responsibility

    • It is a value that is in the conscience of the person, which allows him to reflect, manage, guide and assess the consequences of his actions, always on the moral plane.
  5. Awareness

    • It is one that acts consciously being the direct or indirect cause of an event that occurred. He is bound to answer for something or someone. He is also the one who fulfills his obligations or who puts care and attention into what he does or decides. In the criminal field, guilty of something, act or crime. In another context, it is the person who is in charge of directing an activity.
  6. Commitment

    • It derives from the Latin term compromissum and is used to describe an obligation that has been contracted or a word already given.
