THE ATMOSPHERE

Inhalt der Mindmap
THE ATMOSPHERE
It has different layer
- Troposphere
- Is 12 km above sea level. This is where we find ideal conditions for life. We also find meteorological phenomena, such as wind and rain here. The troposphere contains 90% of the total mass of atmospheric gases.
- Estratosphere
- The gases that form the stratosphere move horizontally. The ozono layer is here, 25 km away from the Earth's surface. Temperatures increase as the altitude increases.
- Ozono layer
- The ozone layer filters out the sun's ultra violet rays.
- Mesosphere
- Temperatures drop to -100ºC. When small meteorites break up in the thermosphere, shooting stars appear in the mesosphere.
- Thermosphere
- Absorbs the most powerful radiation from the Sun, such as X-rays. That's why temperatures here can reach 1000ºC
- Exosphere
- Has a very low concentration of gases.
- Troposphere
