1. Statics is th science of data

   • Involves collecting, classifying, summarizing, organizing, analyzing and interpreting numerical information.
     • Used in different areas like pharmaceutical, bussiness and others

2. Descriptive Statistics

   • Utilize numerical and graphical methods to look for patterns in a data set, to summarize the information revealed and to present information in a convenient form
     • Descriptive Statistical problem
       • Definde the population. Select variables. Select the tables. Identify patterns
   • Describe datad set

3. Inferential Statistics

   • Utilizes sample data to make estimates decisions, predictions, or other generalization about larger set of data.
     • Inferential techniques used
       • Hypothesis testing
       • Inferential Problem
         • Define the population of interest. Select the variables. Select a sample of population. Run the statistical test. Generalize the result
     • Statistical Hypothesis
       • It is an educated guess about realtionships between two or more variables
         • Dependent
           • Represents the effect that is being tested
         • Independent
           • Represents the inputs to the dependent variable
   • The main goal is to make a conclusion about population based off of a sample of data from population

4. Statistical Research

   • Two types of data
     • Qualitative
       • Measurements that cannot be masured on a natural numerical scale
     • Quantitive
       • Measurements that can be recorded on a naturally occuring scale
