1. The force on a current-carrying wire in a magnetic field can make the wire move.

   • Affected by:
     • The strength of the magnet
     • The size of the current (amps) in the wire
     • The angle between the current and the magnetic field lines
       • Force is greatest when the wire is perpendicular to the magnetic field lines
       • Force is zero when the wire is parallel to the magnetic field lines

2. Electric Motor

   • Split-ring commutator is the device that enables the motor to spin.
