1. Advantages

   • More student be in a class then if it was a physical classroom
   • VLEs record the mistakes produced by the students and gives them things to do to work on the mistakes.
   • Paper isn’t wasted as everything is done on the internet
   • When students need to take tests the computer can automatically mark the answers and gives the teacher less work to do so they don’t have to mark at home.
   • VLEs track your progression and make it easy for the teacher and the student to see the subjects they are good at and the subjects they need more work at.
   • VLEs use a variety of mixed media such as animations, games and films this is good because then students can learn the way they want to learn as not all students learn by reading out of a book.
   • Students can work at their own pace which is good because the people that understand the work can move on to a harder subject and not have to wait for the people who don’t understand it as quickly.
   • Students can access them whenever they want. This is good because if they are ill or cannot travel to the school they can do the work online.

2. Diasvantages

   • If you're stuck you cant ask it questions
   • cant skip the bits you already know so it can be boring for some smart people
   • need a large number of computers
   • lack of social support from teachers if you don't undertsand
   • expensive
   • hard to mark essays
   • students need motivation to work by themselves
