Computational Logic
Transistor
- A component that allows us to use electrical pulses inside of a computer.
Logic gates
- OR Gate
- An AND Gate takes two inputs and gives one output. If one or more inputs are 1, then the output is 1, otherwise the output is 0.
- AND Gate
- The AND Gate takes two inputs and gives one output. If both inputs are 1, the output is 1, otherwise the output is 0.
- NOT Gates
- A NOT Gate can take any amount of inputs. If the inputs are 0 then the output will be a 1. If the input is 1 then the output will be 0.
- OR Gate
Truth tables
- Truth tables are used to show all the possible combinations of outputs which can occur for all the different possible inputs.
A ^ B
- A ^ B Means A OR B and refers to an OR gate with two inputs called A and B.
- A v B
- A v B Means A AND B and refers to a AND gate with two inputs called A and B.
- ¬A
- ¬A Means NOT A and refers to a NOT gate with one input called A.
Logic Circuit
- A Logic Circuit is when multiple logic gates are combined to carry out different operations
