4. Provide past paper questions on each topic

   • Helps students to understand how deep and broad their knowledge and understanding must be
   • Shows how topics will be tested
     • Style of questions

5. Provide relevant newspaper/internet articles

   • To broaden knowledge base
   • To provide concrete or real-life examples

6. Give outlines of Mind Maps for each topic/chapter

   • Students can add to them during or after each lesson
     • Provide excellent summary of topic
     • Encourages students to engage with material

7. Encourage students to study every day

   • Stress that they MUST study/ engage with that day's material that day and regularly thereafter
     • Demonstrate use of Mind Maps
       • Made by hand
       • Direct them to Exam Time platform
     • Note-taking
       • Provide help with note-taking
     • Teach them to highlight effectively

8. Use PowerPoint presentations

   • Provide hand outs as summaries
   • Stress key words or concepts
     • Highlight
   • Use diagrams, flow charts, maps etc
   • Annotate as you explain

9. Check understanding regularly

   • Effective questioning

10. Advise re: time management

    • Study timetables

11. Give feedback

    • Students must know how they are doing

    • Profiles should state attitude and progress, achievement and how to improve

12. Use peer assessment

    • Familiarise students with marking criteria

        • This is will help them to assess the quality of their own work
