1. Roles

   • Look after patient needs and well being
   • Team Work
   • Holistic Care - Physical, Psychological, Emotional, Social & Spiritual
   • 6c - Communication, Compassion, Care, Competence, Confidentiality, Courage
   • Educate patients, parents and carers regarding patient health
   • Delegating work to the colleagues effectively according to their roles and responsibility in busy schedule
   • Communicate effectively with the patients and staff
   • Get consent from parents or carers
   • Treating people individually while withholding their dignity
   • Respond to an Emergency - I.e Patient arresting, fallen down accidentally etc

2. Responsibilities

   • Making Beds
   • Being advocate for vulnerable patients
   • Concise Observation - I.e. Keeping patient documents up to date
   • Administrating correct medication to the patients
   • Create a patient care plan which can help to improve patient health
   • Keep fire exit hazard free
   • Plan discharge and arrange everything - I.e ambulance(if needed), contact GP, parents etc
   • One to one patient observation when needed- I.e Patient is at risk at fall (Cot), confused or aggressive
   • Refer to other HBP bodies for patient well being - I.e. Physiothepist, OT, Rehab, TVN(tissue viability nurse), Plastics etc
   • Delivering Basic Care - I.e Food, Drink, Warm, Wash etc.
   • Observing patient condition - I.e. Skin condition, mobility etc
   • Conduct Risk Assessment - I.e. Safe for child to go on a bed or need cot
   • Stay up to date with new products
     • Medicine
     • Medical equipments
     • Bed & Mattress
   • Mentor student nurses, junior member of the staff and new recruited staff
   • Filling out documents of patient risk assessment - I.e. Waterlow, falls risk etc
