Although it is true that "will" is a way of talking about the future, we actually have several futures. Today we talk about two, which are very different. The other future, somewhat longer, goes to + infinitive. It is very important to know that the difference between will go, and probably not what you think.
- Going to is used to talk about intentions and plans for the future. Thus we would say:
