chapter 1/chapter2/chapter 3

  1. self introduction about who he is

    • Annecdote
      • He is bad at math and science ever since he is born
      • he joined the army, and the military paid for the lesson for him to learn Russian
  2. when he is good at a subject it makes him to like learning that subject and the more he likes it the more time he will put in to it

  3. RELAX

    • Some times being to enthusiastic is also a kind of diease
    • The focus mode is what we need to have during learning the process of learning math and science. Focus more very related to your prefrontal cortex if you focus on something and boom focus mod will be on You can consider this is sort of a light switch, switch on the light, The stream of penetration light will shone on your focus object.
    • Divergent Mod is also Very vital to the process of learning science and math if we are stuck on a question for a long time and we don’t get any clue of what this question is talking about a divergent more wall just tell you a clue at the same time it is related to the macro perspective. Whenever you relax and just let your mind walk around divergent mode will just appear. When you’re relaxed it gives a chance for your brain to connect with different parts of your brain it will give you feedback was really precious ideas it’s different from focus mode divergent wall looks like that is not really related to any part of that area of the brain is more like of spread it out in the whole brain. When the sign of the focus mode appears this is when the time where divergent mode starts to work.
  4. also gave a small example of a kid playing chess with a well known chess master in the world

    • the kid is not as stressed as the chess master in that game, and that is what cause the kid to not loose to the chess master
  5. Small tip

    • when you are reading a chapter in book that involves math the best thing first is not to read and understand everything on that page. The best thing to do first is to look over it briefly first, whether it is equations, pictures graphs and maybe even the conclusion of this chapter at the end.
    • When ever you scan over something, in a book whether it is graphs or pictures or words, it will create 'hooks' inside your mind helping you to remember better when it comes to deeper reading
  6. focused thinking

    • Take focus mode as a really closely organized pingball station On the machines like the old pinball machines you pull the little Pistons it shoots the ball and since I’m away the ball randomly balances on Robert like cylinders which caused him to bounce around whenever you a concentrated you bring shoes out of metal ball just like a pinball pinball game it bounces around inside your brain this is what it’s like under the focus mode. If you think both of the molds are two kinds of different games focus mode is much more complicated and divergent mode if you look at every cylinder and take them as a braincell if you launch the idea inside your brain balance is around on your brain cell which generates new idea.
  7. divergent thinking

  8. there are generally two kind of studying mode in our daily life

    • why do we need two
  9. Convergent example: I live four miles from work. My car gets 30 MPG. I want to use less fuel in my commute for financial and conservation reasons. Money is no object. Find the three best replacement vehicles for my car.

  10. Divergent Example: I live four miles from work. My car gets 30 MPG. I want to use less fuel in my commute for financial and conservation reasons. Money is no object. What options do I have to reduce my fuel consumption?

  11. Procrastination

    • Most people struggles with Procrastination
      • if you are doing the thing that you are not particularly interested in
        • your mind will not be clear on what you are doing
          • take thinking as generating a image inside your mind the more you think about this the more vivid of the thing you are doing it is inside your mind
          • any kind of mode of thinking requires time and you by wasting up your time is not saving any for the brain modes to process the information
      • if you start to waste time
        • there won't be enough time for you to perform the best of you during the focused mod, there are only concentration enough or just skim and scanning
          • this will add pressure to your self
          • you won't feel better just because you think you didn't do the work
      • continued at the chapters later on
      • Cure
        • there are multiple solutions to cure and help you with Procrastination
          • one of them that I am going to introduce to you guys has a quite funny name
            • it is called a tomato time control
              • in order to achieve the best potential of yourself you have to achieve the following things
                • switch off your phone
                • set a timer for 25 minute
                • write down the thing that you think off when you think about what you have to do
                • concentrate your mind on it for the 25 min
                • enjoy your pride of completeing your work
  12. Some questions that you can thin about after reading chapeter two

    • how can you realize that you are studying with divergent thinking?how does it feel?
    • why is math and science is more of a challenge to people who struggles with Procrastination.
  13. Chapter 4

    • Compare your neurons of your brain as if they are tentacles of a octopus
      • whenever new ideas pop out the tentacles goes to hold it together, generating a group of information, what we called a chunk)
        • round
          • Granny smith(t yoe of apple)
        • green
      • with the neurons acting like tentacles, whenever you learn something new, it generates a neuron pass way
        • just like before you learnt it you are traveling on a road near the country side
        • Now that you have seen or learnt it before it is easier and faster for you to get to the destination, as if you are on a high way
      • how to create 'chunks'
        • put your attention on to the information that you want to create chunks on
          • get famaliar with the information that you are studying , and try not to do things with your game in the background with out focus your neurons will not be able to hold on
        • To understand everything. IN order to make chunks of info you need to understand everything
          • Take understanding as super glue with the more information that you understand you will get more help with the information that you are taking in with your brain
            • learning is benificial for creating neuron chunks
            • practice can bring you what you need for an exam
              • Focus
              • Understand
              • practice
            • A positive learning environment is the one where learners feel involved and responsible for their learning while being comfortable enough to fully participate in group and individual activities
        • You can not only see chunks of info now, you can always know when and where to use this info
    • what chapter four is trying to say is that with the introduction to the information that you are going to learn you should revise them so that they make more sense for you
      • just like putting together a puzzle when the more you practise the more clearer the picture of what the thing look like when you finish, just like when you gain information
