1. Informational writing

   • I would use it in Psychology to share research findings, new ideas, and updates on the field. Informational writing is crucial for disseminating knowledge within the field and ensuring that psychologists are aware of the latest developments in investigations.
     • An informational email to colleagues about the latest research on the impact of stress on mental health, providing relevant references for further readings.

2. Instrucional writing

   • Essential when providing guidance or instructions to clients, patients, or students, such as for therapy exercises, treatment plans, or academic assignments with the information needed to complete a task.
     • Giving my patient a step-by-step guide on how to practice meditation techniques to manage their anxiety, including detailed instructions and tips so that they can follow the task.

3. Persuasive writing

   • Persuasive writing is important in my career because it helps get the resources and support they need to do their work. It also helps to promote and advocate for psychological research and practice. Also, to persuade an institution, for example, to support your research or clinical program.
     • Drafting a persuasive proposal to a university or hospital administration to allocate funding and resources for the establishment of a mental health and wellness center on a campus university.

4. Transactional writing

   • Used for administrative purposes in the field of psychology, such as writing appointment confirmations, or informed consent forms.
   • Sending an appointment reminder email to a client scheduled for a therapy session. The email would include details such as the date, time, and location of the appointment. It may also include a request for confirmation to make sure about the client's attendance.
