The Spectre Bridegroom

1. Baron von Landshort came from the family Katzenellenbogen, he had a castle on the top of a mountain from Germany.

   • He had a daughter young, beautiful and smart. She was raised by her two aunts, excluded from young men.
     • Baron and the head of a Barvarian family organized a marriage for his respective children.
       • The bridegroom, Count von Altenburg would be a few days late, because he met an army mate named Herman von Starkenfaust.
         • Herman's home was near to Baron's castle. Herman didn't knew the bride because their families had a quarrel, but he had heard about her beauty-
         • In the way, some robbers atacked them, they beat them but the Count was injured and later he died. While he was dying he said to Herman that he must go to Baron's castle to tell what happened.
           • The family were impatient for the arrival of the bridegroom because they were hungry. When the doorman said that a person came, the baron hurried to meet him. When he met the bridegroom he didn't let him spoke.
           • Inmediatly, the unmarried aunts take the princess to meet her bridegroom and when they saw between them, there was love at first sight.
             • The dinner was served and the baron told stories, but suddenly the stranger bridegroom stood up in the depth of the night saying that he had to leave, unless the baron said him that he could stay there the stranger got out and he told to the baron that he was a ghost; the stranger was the Count killed by the robbers, and all the people that was there didn't know what believe until the next day when the letters arrived and they got the new that this count was killed.
               • After that events, the bride was sleeping with her aunt. Once, a weird music was played, and the Spectre Bridegroom appeared in the window. The bride didn't scare and make her aunt to keep silence.
                 • Three days later the bride disappeared and after that the aunt told what had happened, and baron lead a search group, but before they ride out they saw the bride coming with the Spectre.
                   • As you should know, it wasn't really a spectre, it was the count's frend, Herman. He explained that at first he couldn't say who he really are beacuase the baron talked a lot. He said he was a ghost because of baron's story about that.
                     • He used the ghost story to leave because he thought that if he had told who he really was the baron wouldn't have allowed him in the castle by the family's rivalry, and he really love the bride.
                       • The bride loved him too and the baron forgave them both, all the family loved the bridegroom and all things ended very well.
   • The Baron's family was big. His poorest relations listened all his stories, making that he felt happy and wise.
