1. Particle in a box

   • Quantum
     • Small probability of being found outside of box (or in walls)
     • particle may only occupy certain positive energy levels
       • 'likely' and 'forbidden' zones
     • can never have zero energy (sit still)
   • Classical
     • Equal probability of being found anywhere inside box
     • zero probability of being found outside of box
   • (infinite square well)

2. Schrodinger equation

   • ℏ = plank constant / 2π
   • ψ = wavefunction
     • ψ(x,t) as a probability density, a probability per unit length of finding the particle at a time t at position x
   • m= mass of particle
   • E = particle energy
