Aid project in LEDC (Goat aid)
- A project in Africa, Burundi, which is
provided through oxfam, helping
impoverished villages
- Its is self reliant and receives no help
from the government making it a
NGO-non governmental organisation
- works by providing
widowed women with a
goat which will give
them multiple benefits
- The goat can then breed and create a herd
- It is sustainable because once a women
has enough goats to make a herd she
gives one goat back to the organization
which will repeat the process with another
women
- The goats require little care and are easy to look after
- One problem is that the
goats eat a lot of grass which
may lead to desertification
- The project hasn't had a significant affect on poverty
but has increased the nmber of hoofed animals like
goats which provide benefits for locals
- Benefits
