1. Simplifying

   • If it is not a perfect square make a factor tree put yourchioces in what is called a hut and simplify.
   • To simplfy find the square root of the number in the hut

2. Adding and Subtracting

   • For subtracting rewrite the radical in simplest form
   • You must simplify when the radicals are not the same number then just add
   • Add the outside numbers together when the radicals are the same

3. Breakdown your square root. If you have a pair of numbers, move the numbers to the outside of the hut and multiply the remaining numbers together to make a new square root

4. When multiplying multiply the ones on the inside and the ones on the outside together
