For evaluating functions:Plug all problems into Y= key on calculator

Example: graphing functions: f(x)=5/x-1, f(x)= 5/x+1, f(x)=x+1/x-1

Look at graph and determine which on is the correct answer

* also try 2nd Table to look for matching columns

Trying to find the end behavior:

Describe what is happening on the graph

* remember the guide: f(x)->( arrow means is approaching) infinity

x-> infinity

f(x)->- (negative) infinity

x->- infinity

answer- f(x)->- infinity as x->- infinity

Example #2

f(x)= -x^2+2x-1

answer-

f(x)-> - infinity as x-> - infinity

f(x) -> - infinity as x -> + infinity
