Conduction:

The Conduction of heat occurs mainly in Solids. Metals are good conductors because of their free electrons.

Convection:

The Convection of heat occurs only in Liquids and Gases. Convection occurs when the more energetic particles MOVE from the HOTTER REGION to the COOLER REGION - and take the heat energy with them!
