I. Bram Stoker's Dracula demonstrates the Victorian Era's inferiority of women and an overly positive opinion of men's strength.

A. The novel shows the Victorian Era's opinion of women through Jonathan Harker and Dr. Seward.

1. “I answer for Mina and Myself” (254).

2. "She will come at his call" (329)

3. "Mrs. Harker is better out of it. Things are quite bad enough to us, all men of the world, and who have been in many tight places in our time; but it is no place for a woman, and if she had remained in touch with the affair, it would in time in fallibly wreck her." (273)

B. Throughout Dracula, men are proclaimed to be stronger mentally and physically shown through Van Helsing and Mina.

1. "We are men, and are able to bear, but you must be our star and our hope, and we shall act all the more free that you are not in the danger, such as we are" (258).

2. “[Mina] has a man's brain – a brain that a man should have were he much gifted – and a woman's heart” (251).

3. “Madame Mina, you are, as always, most wise” (347)

II. Thus, the novel Dracula proves the idea of the superiority of men to women in the Victorian Era.
