• Warm-Up:
• What is the meaning of affixes?
• What do we mean by suffix?
• How can we add a suffix to a word?

Class objectives

• In this class, we will introduce some suffixes for adjectives.
• Then, we will work on some words that we did the last lesson, and change them into adjectives by using the appropriate suffix.

• There are many suffixes for adjectives like: -ive, -al, -able , -less, -ful, -ent, -ing, -ish, -ly, and so many.
• Examples such as beautiful, careless, productive, friendly, foolish, accidental, interesting, excellent, avoidable ...ect.
• The suffixes we will study in this lesson are:
• -ive
• -ing
• -al
• -able
• -ous
• Note:
• (-ing) & (-ed) can even add to form verbs just be careful when you use it in context :)

• These suffixes can be added to verbs or noun to have the adjective form:
• (-ive Ex: Attract, Attractive
• (-ing) Ex. relax, relaxing
• (-al). Ex. Operation, operational
• (-able). EX. Drink, drinkable
• (-ous). Ex. continue, continuous
